To improve the lives of individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities through therapeutic horsemanship, in a safe and supportive farm environment.
Established in 1999, Hoof & Paw Therapeutic Riding & Activity Center offers riding lessons and related equine activities to individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities or disadvantages. Located in the heart of northern Davidson County, North Carolina, we offer more than just horseback riding — we cultivate physical, mental, and emotional growth through lessons that blend riding, games, and essential farm skills.
We work one-on-one with each individual to help them excel, whether that means growth in social skills, motor skills, balance, independence, muscle strength, concentration, confidence, or simply the joy of connecting with a horse.
Our facility sits on a working farm in northern Davidson County, purpose-built to be accessible and welcoming. Riders and their families work alongside a team of experienced instructors and trained volunteers in every lesson, so no rider ever works alone.
Beyond individual growth, we’re deeply committed to community and excellence. Hoof & Paw is proud to partner with Special Olympics as the official Northern Piedmont equestrian training site, giving athletes with intellectual disabilities the chance to qualify for the NC Championship in Raleigh.
